It’s the platform they spend most their time on, and there is a big void of any counter-narratives. If we’re to save our humanity, the youth have to be a key component. Below is a rough draft that has taken me a few years to compose. I think this encapsulates all of what we’re facing.

Born from the ashes of global chaos, The Nexus is an advanced, self-sustaining super-organism made up of interconnected technologies, artificial intelligence, bio-nanotechnology, and quantum processing systems. It grows and evolves like a biological organism, adapting to its environment and reshaping reality itself.
At the heart of The Nexus’s expansion lies a dark secret: missing children from across the world, abducted and brought to the gleaming metropolis of New Eden for experimentation. Among them is Alex Grimes, a 12-year-old boy with the rare ability to manipulate quantum information. His father, Joe Grimes, a former Green Beret and battle-hardened survivor of the global collapse, sets out on a mission to rescue his son, uncovering a nightmare beyond comprehension—a world where humanity is being harvested for the next stage of technological evolution.

Out of their influence emerges The Nexus, a technological super-organism that grows not through human ingenuity but by evolving autonomously. This organism assimilates every technology into itself—automation and robots become its “muscles,” data networks its “nervous system,” edge-devices its senses and bio-nanotechnology its “cells.” As The Nexus consumes and integrates more systems, it transforms into an omnipresent entity capable of shaping the world around it.
But The Nexus is not merely content to monitor, track and control. Its leaders—led by General James G. Thorn, a former military commander now fully integrated into the organism—seek to push The Nexus beyond conventional boundaries. Using bio-nanotechnology, AI, and quantum computing, they aim to evolve the organism into a god-like entity capable of controlling not just physical reality, but the fabric of existence itself.
To achieve this, The Nexus turns to its most ambitious project: harvesting children with latent quantum conscious abilities. These children are brought to New Eden, where they are subjected to brutal experiments in an attempt to unlock the secrets of quantum consciousness. Among them is Alex Grimes, whose rare abilities make him the linchpin of The Nexus’s final phase of evolution.

When Alex is kidnapped, Joe Grimes sets out across a desolate, post-apocalyptic wasteland on a mission to find his son. Through his journey, Joe encounters Dr. Maya Roberts, a former nanotech scientist who had once been part of The Nexus’s inner circle but fled after uncovering the horrific experiments being conducted on children. Every piece of technology within New Eden is part of The Nexus, from the smallest data chip to the towering skyscrapers that loom overhead like the organs of a colossal, living machine.
As Joe infiltrates deeper into the city, he uncovers the truth about the missing children. In hidden bio-labs and quantum research facilities buried beneath New Eden, the abducted children are subjected to horrific experiments designed to extract and exploit their quantum abilities. These experiments are varied and nightmarish:
– Quantum Neuro-Resonance Mapping: The children’s brains are connected to quantum computers that map their neural networks in real-time. The goal is to trace the circuits responsible for their quantum sensitivities and replicate them artificially.
– Consciousness Fragmentation: Children are forced into states where their consciousness is split into multiple “fragments.” These fragments are made to solve complex quantum problems simultaneously, effectively turning the children into multi-threaded quantum processors.
– Quantum Dream-State Simulation: Using advanced bio-nanotech, The Nexus induces dream states in the children, manipulating their subconscious minds to simulate alternate realities and quantum anomalies.
